The Yakovlev Yak-3 was a World War II Soviet fighter aircraft. Robust and easy to maintain, it was very much liked by pilots and ground crew alike. It was one of the smallest and lightest major combat fighters fielded by any combatant during the war. After the war ended, it flew with the Yugoslav and Polish Air : Artur Juszczak. Yakovlev Yak (Яковлев Як; NATO reporting name: Codling) is a Soviet is a small, 3-engined jet airliner, seating capacity for 32 passengers, produced by Manufacturer: Yakovlev.

The Yak-3 was truly the pinnacle of development for the Yakovlev OKB during the Great Patriotic War. The Profiles Building off the work I did for Erik Pilawskii's book, Soviet Air Force Fighter Colours (Available from Specialty Press), I have again sought the assistance of Erik's copious knowledge of matters VVS and came up with these. The designation Yak-3 was also used for other Yakovlev projects - a proposed but never built, heavy twin-engine fighter and the Yakovlev Yak-7A. Operational History 2 Lighter and smaller than the Yak-9 but powered by the same engine, Yak-3 was a very agile dogfighter and a forgiving, easy-to-handle aircraft loved by both rookie and veteran pilots.

Amodel Scale , Yakovlev YakPP + book 'YakPP Rew Aircraft', AMO I hadn't, either – until I read Yakovlev Yak-1, Yak-3, Yak-7, Yak-9, 20th installment in MMP/Stratus' superb "Polish Wings" series. Available in North America from Casemate, the page production precedes sequentially though all versions of Yakovlev's legendary fighters in Polish service. And what a lavishly illustrated effort it is.
